Find Chariton County Released Inmates

Chariton County released inmates can be harder to trace than a current detainee because the live jail roster usually stops showing a person after custody ends. A search for Chariton County released inmates must follow the agency that held the person, the court record that authorized the change, and any later corrections or supervision record. Chariton County released inmates may have entered the community, moved to another custodian, or remained under state supervision. The right search combines local release records, state offender status, court entries, notification tools, and direct confirmation from the office that created the record.

Understanding Chariton County Releases

A release record answers an event question: when and under what authority did a person leave a custodian? A discharge record answers a broader status question about whether a sentence or supervision term ended. Those are not the same record. Chariton County no longer houses ordinary detainees at its former Keytesville jail. Randolph County Jail is the expected physical custodian under the announced housing arrangement. Randolph records the jail exit, while Chariton County may still hold the arrest, transport, and court trail.

Leaving Randolph custody can mean entry into the community, transfer to the Missouri Department of Corrections, delivery to another county, or transfer under federal or immigration authority. Parole or conditional release ends prison confinement while state supervision continues. Probation is a court-ordered status and does not, by itself, prove a prison release. The release type and receiving agency are essential.

A missing roster name does not prove release. Ask whether the person entered the community or moved to another custodian.

Chariton County Release Types

One word such as “out” is not enough to describe a Chariton County custody change. The local record should state the release category or transfer destination. Court entries can explain the authority, but the Randolph booking transaction is the stronger source for the physical exit time.

The same person can appear in more than one system as the custody path changes. A local booking number belongs to the jail segment, a court case number belongs to the Chariton case, and a DOC or federal identifier belongs to the receiving system. Keep each identifier with its source.

Chariton County Release Record Fields

No public Chariton or Randolph data dictionary lists every field. A focused request should seek the existing fields that distinguish community release from transfer. The inventory below identifies useful request targets. It is not a promise that every field exists or is open in every case.

FieldWhat it shows
Booked name and identifierConnects the event to the right person and avoids a namesake.
Booking numberLinks admission, photograph, custody movement, and release.
Booking date and timeMarks the start of the local custody segment.
Release date and timeShows when Randolph completed its custody transaction.
Release type or dispositionDistinguishes bond, court order, completion, or another outcome.
Receiving agencyShows whether roster removal was a transfer instead of community release.
Case or court authorityConnects the event with the Chariton legal record.

Does a court order prove the person walked out? No. The order may explain why release was authorized. The jail transaction shows when processing ended and whether another hold changed the destination.

Request Chariton County Release Records

Missouri Chapter 610 provides the public-record request route. The correct custodian depends on the record. Randolph likely holds the booking, custody movement, physical release transaction, and Randolph booking image. Chariton likely holds its arrest, transport, incident, and originating-agency records. The Circuit Clerk holds the court file.

  1. Identify the person with a full name, birth date if known, booking number, and approximate custody dates.
  2. Ask Randolph for the existing release record showing date, time, type, and receiving agency if transferred.
  3. Ask Chariton separately for arrest or transport records, and use the Circuit Clerk for court copies.
  4. Request electronic delivery and an itemized estimate before costs exceed a stated cap.
  5. If access is denied, request the law that authorizes closure or redaction.

Section 610.023 calls for action as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day. If immediate access is not possible, the response should explain the cause and give the earliest time, date, and place for access. Production can take longer for reasonable cause. Section 610.026 governs copying, staff, and technical charges. No local release-record fee schedule was found, so ask for an estimate instead of assuming the request is free.

Chariton County Release Record Law

Missouri Chapter 610 sets the open-record framework. Section 610.011 directs broad construction of open-record provisions and narrow construction of exceptions. Arrest and incident records have special rules under § 610.100. Records may still be closed or redacted for active investigations, safety, confidential identifiers, juvenile matters, court orders, or sealed and expunged cases.

No official local source states a fixed online retention period for Chariton County releases or Randolph booking photographs. If a record is said not to exist, ask for the retention schedule or disposition authority. Online availability, legal public status, and practical access are separate questions.

Expunged Chariton Release Records

Missouri expungement under § 610.140 can change which case or arrest records remain publicly visible. A vanished search result does not establish the date a person left custody. The physical release fact still belongs to the sheriff or MODOC record, while expungement addresses later public access.

Eligibility, exclusions, waiting periods, notice, and effect depend on the current statute and the individual case. The Missouri State Public Defender’s expungement resources offer a legal-information starting point. Juvenile, sealed, and protected information should not be pursued through search workarounds.

Note: A closed public record and a completed custody event are different facts held by different systems.

Find Released Chariton County Inmates

Begin with the last confirmed custodian, not the county name alone. A Chariton case may lead to Randolph jail custody, a statewide MODOC institution, federal detention, or another agency. Each system answers a different part of the custody history.

  1. Check Randolph JailTracker only for present custody. Save the observation time, but do not call an absent name released.
  2. Call Randolph with identity details and ask for release date, release type, and transfer destination.
  3. Review the correct Chariton criminal case in Case.net for bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, warrant, and probation entries.
  4. Search MOVANS for the exact person and read the status event as written.
  5. If MODOC was involved, use the active search for current prison or supervision status and prior-offender data for discharge history.
  6. Use BOP or ICE only when the facts point to federal or immigration custody.
  7. Request the narrow official record when online tools do not supply affirmative proof.

Use an agency identifier whenever possible. A booking number, MODOC number, case number, BOP register number, or A-number is safer than a common name. A photograph may distinguish people, but an image does not prove disposition or release.

Historical Chariton MODOC Releases

The active lookup is not a complete discharge archive. MODOC publishes an all-current-and-prior offender dataset, updated nightly and documented with field warnings. It can preserve a Completed Flag plus minimum and maximum sentence-release fields. It does not cover every county-only booking.

The file is charge-level, so one person may have several rows. Its special values must be read through the data dictionary. Values such as 99999999, 88888888, and 66666666 are not dates. MODOC warns that working data may contain incomplete, self-reported, or unverified information. Treat it as a historical lead and request the specific department record when meaning is unclear.

Chariton County Recent Releases

No separately labeled official 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, or general released-person feed was found through Chariton’s sheriff page or Randolph’s official JailTracker path. The Randolph roster shows current custody. Comparing yesterday’s roster with today’s can produce false release claims because a missing name could reflect transfer, correction, suppression, hospitalization, or a match error.

For a time-bounded list, request records whose release timestamps fall inside precise Central Time endpoints. Ask for the name, booking number, timestamp, release type, and destination if transferred. The Chariton County 24-hour release process explains how to frame a same-day request.

Chariton Post-Release Supervision

MODOC Northern Region District 2 expressly serves Chariton County. It supervises assigned probationers, parolees, conditional releases, and interstate-compact cases. That path does not apply to every person released from Randolph County Jail. Verify a current MODOC result and then confirm the assigned officer or office because supervision can follow residence and individual assignment.

An absconder or warrant status should be confirmed through the responsible court or agency. No official Chariton-specific absconder list was found, and such a label does not establish that the person is held at Randolph County Jail or any other named facility.

Probation
Court-ordered supervision that may occur instead of, or after, custody.
Parole
Discretionary release from prison by the Parole Board before the maximum term.
Conditional release
A supervised statutory part of an eligible Missouri sentence.
Discharge
The end of the sentence or supervision term, not merely exit from a jail or prison.

Chariton Release Alerts and Transfers

Missouri calls its VINE service MOVANS. The Missouri VINELink portal can provide custody or case status from participating sources and accept alert registrations. Read the exact event. Released, transferred, escaped, deceased, and unavailable do not mean the same thing. For a documentary timestamp and release type, obtain the sheriff or MODOC record.

The BOP inmate locator is the public route for many sentenced federal prisoners and may show released status and a date. USMS pretrial custody lacks a comparable public historical release search. ICE’s locator focuses on current detention, so a negative search does not establish a prior release. A Randolph transaction that says “released to ICE” is a transfer, not a community release.

Chariton Court, Randolph Release

Chariton’s custody geography and case geography split after the jail closure. Randolph County Jail holds and physically releases the detainee. The Chariton Circuit Clerk and Case.net preserve the Chariton case, bond, judgment, and disposition trail. A court order supplies legal authority. Randolph’s transaction supplies the completed release time and can reveal an outside hold or transfer.

When records seem inconsistent, compare identifiers and ask about other cases, municipal warrants, probation holds, and detainers. A judge’s order and a later jail-door time can both be accurate because staff must verify authority, complete records, return permitted property, and coordinate any receiving agency.

Which Chariton Jail Released Them?

Chariton County stopped housing inmates in its 1995 Keytesville jail effective March 1, 2023 and announced Randolph County Jail as the housing destination. The sheriff remains at 307 S. Cherry Street, but that address is not the ordinary physical release point under the current arrangement. An older 1907 jail and sheriff’s residence at 305 S. Cherry can also surface in search results.

The housing change is documented in the local closure announcement.

Chariton Release Search by System

Choose the source that owns the event. Negative searches have narrow meanings, while affirmative release types and cross-source agreement provide stronger proof.

Record the time of each search and compare the person’s identifiers before drawing a conclusion. A live roster, historical file, court docket, and release transaction can update on different schedules and still describe the same custody sequence accurately.

Property After Chariton Release

Randolph Sheriff links a separate property-return social page, but that page is not a published release-property policy. Confirm the pickup process directly with Randolph County Jail before traveling or sending another person. Do not assume the Chariton sheriff address is where property from Randolph custody will be returned.

Record corrections must go to the system that owns the field. Randolph controls its custody transaction. The Chariton clerk controls the docket. MODOC controls state corrections data. A correction in one source may not automatically update the others, so identify the exact field and send proof to the proper custodian.

Chariton Jail Closure Figures

The closure announcement included unusual local operating figures. Officials reported a 2022 average daily population of 2.5 Chariton inmates and 4.5 boarded Carroll inmates. They projected a $275,000 jail operating loss, estimated boarding and transport at $75,000, and expected about $200,000 in annual savings from the change.

Chariton County Release Facility

Randolph County Jail is the one verified active detention facility serving Chariton County under the post-closure housing plan. It holds the detainee and records the physical release or transfer. Chariton’s former Keytesville operation and the older historic jail are not active facility pages because neither is the expected current place of confinement.

No MODOC prison, BOP institution, or identified ICE detention center lies within the county facility map. A Chariton case can still move into any of those systems. Follow the receiving agency rather than assuming the nearest institution.

For a post-March 2023 local case, begin with Randolph’s booking record and then connect it to Chariton’s case. For a booking before that change, call the Chariton Sheriff with the person’s name and approximate booking period because no public historical county roster was found. The source date matters as much as the county name.

A receiving-agency field can redirect the search. MODOC handles a state-prison transfer and later state supervision. BOP handles many sentenced federal records. ICE and USMS have narrower public tools. None of those sources replaces Randolph’s record of how the local custody segment ended.
